SSEA’s mission is to establish and maintain an interpretive center with an emphasis on the marine and estuarine life of Puget Sound.

South Sound Estuary Association (SSEA) was founded in 2007 as a result of community interest to establish an estuary and marine education center. It is important that the public has opportunities to visit and learn about estuaries, history, marine life and Puget Sound. The new center is planned to be built somewhere along Budd Inlet in downtown Olympia, WA.
